Instructional Strategies
Initial Assessment
Upon enrollment, an initial academic assessment is completed to determine the student’s academic placement and needs. Additionally, an INSIGHT™ Survey is completed to determine the student’s learning styles, strengths, and interests. This culminates into the student’s initial Bridge Learning Plan which will include modifications and accommodations to support skill mastery.
Strategies will include individualized and small group instruction to promote inquiry, cooperative learning, and skill mastery. Students will receive continuous reinforcement and assessment, using approaches that consider students’ learning styles and challenges. Consideration is given to each student's neurodevelopment profile and includes strategies to address weaknesses in constructs such as attention, memory, social cognition, etc.
Bridge Labs are an essential component of our academic design, providing opportunity for hands-on application, extending students’ conceptual understanding, and allowing them to practice skills and behaviors. Through practical experiences, learners develop deeper and broader understanding of major concepts, obtain more information about areas of interest, and refine their skills. Our students will benefit from consistency in skills practice, leading them to the “fluent” level of learning. Also, Lab Days will provide opportunity for Extension & Enrichment Curriculum.
Bridge Lab Days’ unique design facilitates the practice of learned concepts, thereby providing more time for family and extracurricular interests after school, without sacrificing necessary skills reinforcement.
Teachers will track student performance regularly and use collected data to determine appropriate interventions and student skill mastery. Partnership with parents facilitates on-going communication of student interventions and progress.

At Bridge Preparatory Academy a unique plan is developed for each student to accommodate his academic and social needs. Our eclectic college preparatory curriculum will help students with learning challenges, as well as students who simply struggle with traditional school settings, to build a foundation for academic and social success.
